Republicans — and in particular conservative Republicans — need to get serious and legally aggressive in confronting the threat of Democratic election-litigation shenanigans.

In 2020, the Democrats enlisted high-powered election-law attorney Marc Elias and the Perkins Coie law firm to clobber the Republicans in court and state legislatures.

Why? So they could exploit COVID-19 to implement unsolicited mail-in ballots, among other machinations. They did this by appealing to sympathetic judges who allowed them to circumvent state legislative approval, and in doing so made a mockery of due process with respect to election security.

Time is of the essence, as we are already in the thick of the 2024 election cycle. There are plenty of top-notch Republican election attorneys who would be able to effectively combat the Democrats’ assault on our election security and integrity. For example, there’s Harmeet Dhillon, who co-chairs the Republican National Lawyers Association with Mark Braden.

GOP Chair Ronna McDaniel would be wise to engage the RNLA in an effort to roll back the destructive election laws and rules that continue to erode confidence in our elections. There is no time to waste.
