The Republican National Committee condemned the blood vials that landed at its headquarters in the District of Columbia Wednesday as “revolting” and blamed Biden supporters.

“This revolting attack comes on the heels of pro-Hamas protestors violently demonstrating on college campuses and deranged Biden supporters physically attacking our campaign volunteers for supporting President Trump,” Committee Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement.

“While Republicans fight to strengthen our economy, secure our southern border and halt the violent crime in our communities, the fringe left is wreaking havoc, sowing fear and lying to the public in a bad-faith effort to divide Americans and sway an election,” he said. “No matter what violent tactics Biden’s extreme left supporters try next, we stand firm in our mission to deliver greater freedom and opportunity for all Americans, and we won’t back down.”

He thanked law enforcement for a speedy response to the incident and said all employees are back working in the office, where they “remain unintimidated and undeterred” in their effort to get former President Donald Trump back into the White House.

The incident spurred a lockdown at the headquarters and massive response by Capitol Police.

In a statement, law enforcement said the package contained two vials of blood and was cleared by the Hazardous Incident Response Division. The source of the package and its contents will be further investigated, police said.
