The Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington was put on lockdown Wednesday morning to investigate a suspicious substance, according to Capitol Police.

Hazmat officers are on the scene. There were no immediate injuries reported. Police had directed staff and personnel to avoid the area.

​NBC News reported that sources said vials of blood were sent to the Republican Party’s headquarters.
