OPINION:
That the leaders of the Democratic Party are falling all over themselves to endorse Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed should tell you everything you need to know about the party’s fall.
A member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Dr. El-Sayed supports Medicare for all (which would bankrupt the system and lead to socialized medicine), 100% renewal energy by 2030, abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and an arms embargo on Israel.
He calls Israel’s war on terror in Gaza “genocide,” says Israel doesn’t have a right to exist as a Jewish state and campaigns with social media scumbag Hasan Piker, who says that America deserved 9/11.
In a recently uncovered rant, Mr. Piker crowed: “We’re going to keep bringing immigrants into this country on purpose. Just so they can f—- your sister, and then maybe even your daughter. We’re going to destroy the white race, b——!”
If Mr. El-Sayed wins in November, perhaps Mr. Piker will be the good doctor’s chief of staff.
Mr. El-Sayed said he “had a good call” with former President Barack Obama. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, New York Democrat, has endorsed him enthusiastically. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Kamala Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom are all on board too.
Power in the form of taking the Senate is their only concern. If Jack the Ripper were running as a Democrat, they would be solidly behind him.
The DSA is the latest stage in the Democratic Party’s devolution.
The Green New Deal and abolishing ICE and Medicaid for all are standard Democratic advocacy positions. It is no great leap from Obamacare to Medicaid for all. Under President Biden, we had open borders, with as many as 20 million illegals flooding the country.
To avoid confronting radicals such as Mr. El-Sayed and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the party says it has “a big tent” — but only for those to the left of Ms. Harris.
The DSA didn’t happen in a vacuum. Academia, which has proven a fertile breeding ground for the radical left, is controlled by Democratic operatives. The legacy media, which provides a forum for them at every opportunity, is a democratic adjunct.
The attorney general of Michigan, who is both a Democrat and Jewish, announced that she won’t attend her party’s state convention this year for fear of her personal safety.
This is what Mrs. Clinton and her colleagues are endorsing.
Shame on them.
