A headline in The Hill, post-Wisconsin primary, went like this: “On the Ballot: What went wrong for Hong in Wisconsin?” — a commentary on the democratic socialist’s loss in the governor’s race to opponent Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, who was the pick of the Democrat Party establishment.

But Hong’s loss is still a win for the far left. Crowley’s win is not that significant a win for the party.

The fact that she was able to secure 39.33 percent of the vote to Crowley’s 39.81 percent shows the sheer force of the socialist beast that’s swallowing moderates in the Democrat Party — and it’s one that’s not going away any time soon.

“Crowley beats socialist Hong in Wisconsin Democratic governor primary,” Axios wrote.

Barely.

And it’s the barely that’s the real story.

Rather than playing whack-a-mole with elections and campaigns and voter selections, and drawing conclusions from who wins what race and which wing of the Democrat Party that winning candidate represents — the moderate versus the nutjob Marxists, for instance — the better analysis in today’s politics is to consider this: Twenty years ago, socialism was a dirty word and politicians fled the label. Now? It’s become a benefit to many candidates.

Why?

That is the question to address.

The Hongs versus Crowleys — the individual horse races — are secondary. They’re the outcome; the results; the consequences of the issues that have led our nation to openly embrace socialism as a viable political option.

The public schools have been busily brainwashing the youth of America to consider capitalism as racist; the Founding Fathers as slave owners whose views of government are, therefore racist; and the entire conservative-Republican-MAGA voting masses as intolerant, hateful, bigoted, wait for it, wait for it, racists.

They’re raised in broken homes and told by their teachers that it’s quite OK and acceptable and normal to declare for the opposite sex, to dress as a girl even while possessed of the anatomy of a boy — to rail against the idea of even defining a boy or girl, or male or female. They’re indoctrinated in the ways of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and wokeism and Marxism, and told that any failures or struggles they experience are the fault of the millionaires and billionaires and businessmen and that if the wealthy would only pay their fair share, life would be great for all.

The illegals who pour across our borders whenever Democrats are in charge, and who, over the years, have been treated to taxpayer entitlements without end — healthcare, food, education, homes and jobs and yes, even driver’s licenses the legal citizens are told are privileges, not rights — they come with entitlement mindsets that only intensify over time.

The longer they receive shelter from deportation from sanctuary-loving Democrats, the more they believe the lies they are told by Democrats that they have a right to stay in-country; to receive tax-paid perks.

The victimhood mentality of the low information voters the Democrats rely on for election wins has only grown worse, and louder, over the years — mostly because Democrat Party leadership has either stood quietly by as the brick-throwers of the Black Lives Matter and Antifa-type movements have brought their violence into the streets under the guise of First Amendment freedoms to assemble and protest, or because Democrat Party leadership has actively encouraged these violent thugs to take to the streets.

“Barack Obama praised young Black Lives Matter activists in the White House,” The Guardian reported in February of 2016.

“They are much better organizers than I was when I was their age, and I am confident that they are going to take America to new heights,” Obama said then, The Guardian continued.

New heights indeed.

If chaos and mayhem and confusion and class warfare and jealousy and violence and anger and victim mentality are all markers of a socialist movement — which they are — then Obama and his adoration for BLM certainly fueled the fires of open socialism in American politics.

Hong’s loss is significant in that Wisconsin and all of America dodged a bullet by having a socialist run for a high executive office in the state.

But her loss does not speak to the wider movement that’s growing with alarming speed in America — that is, her loss does not take away the embrace of the Democrat Party for all things socialist.

The demonic spirit of communism and collectivism that’s surging on the left and corrupting the Democrat Party is still alive and well and only growing in power.

Americans should cheer Hong’s loss — but also realize that the larger enemy of freedom is mounting attack after attack, and its end game isn’t so much political office as it is destruction of the country, the Constitution, the concepts of God-given liberties and rights and individualism. And that’s the real war.
