More than 100 Lego sets worth over $28,000 were found in an abandoned van in the Mojave Desert in California.

A deputy with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office’s Barstow Station found the van on Monday in Newberry Springs, California, 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

The vehicle contained boxes thought to have been taken during a train burglary, the sheriff’s office said in a release.

The deputy reached out to the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Police Department, which went to the scene and confirmed the boxes were stolen goods before taking possession of the Lego sets. The sheriff’s office did not say when or where the Lego sets were taken from a train.

The van had 123 sets, replicas of the McLaren MCL39 car driven by Lando Norris when he won the 2025 Formula 1 Championship. Each set is worth $230, totaling $28,290.

The Barstow Station asks that anyone with information call 760-256-4838.
