Iranian state media on Monday showcased a segment that reportedly placed a bounty on Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Trump, offering a $10 million reward for his death.
State-affiliated outlet IRIB TV3 aired a multi-minute segment purporting to track Barron Trump’s movements on campus at New York University, where he is accompanied by escort vehicles and several members of the Secret Service.
The video also detailed the usernames for his Discord and Xbox accounts, according to Iran International. Liam Carter and Bo Louden, two of Barron Trump’s classmates at NYU, were also reportedly named in the video.
The video could not be independently verified and it does not appear on any of IRIB’s social media accounts.
If confirmed, the video would be one of the more explicitly violent pieces of rhetoric sponsored by Iran since the beginning of its war with the U.S. and Israel. Tasnim, a news agency linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, released a similar video in June targeting Melania Trump, titled “Where would you kill Melania?”
The videos themselves appear to play off of President Trump’s lingering animosity toward Iran for its alleged involvement in assassination attempts on his life. The IRGC was linked to at least one developing plot to assassinate Mr. Trump in 2024, which was eventually foiled by U.S. authorities.
More recently, Mr. Trump was pulled secretly from Air Force One last month as he was leaving the NATO summit in Turkey amid reports that Iran would target the plane for an attack. Mr. Trump was moved quickly to another plane without informing some members of his cabinet and the press.
