OPINION:
The U.S.-Iran war is entering its 6-month mark, and despite the unleashing of economic sanctions, the regime is still refusing to give up its nuclear ambitions.
That’s at least in part because Iran’s leadership understands the political situation in America, and that all that’s needed is to wait for the midterms, wait for the next presidential election, wait for the political tide to turn enough so even the sanctions are removed.
As Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, head of Israel Law Center in Tel Aviv, said: Russia and China are providing aid to Iran and that’s how they’re able to withstand the U.S.-Israel attacks.
The only way to guarantee an Iran that is committed to peaceful coexistence, she said, is for the citizens of Iran to rise up and fight for a regime change.
That was supposed to be the goal at the beginning of the war.
