Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin recently announced that since President Trump’s return to the White House, the administration has arrested more than 1,900 “known terrorists” who entered the country under President Biden.

That news is excellent news, but the number should — and could — have been much higher. It is thanks to the Democratic Party that it was not.

In December 2025, National Counterterrorism Center Director Joseph Kent testified to Congress that the government knew of at least 18,000 individuals known as suspected terrorists on the FBI’s federal terrorism watch list who were allowed into the U.S. after the disastrous 2021 Afghanistan pullout.

Those 1,900 Mr. Mullin mentioned? They were not even part of the 18,000.

From 2021 to 2023, Mr. Biden’s government admitted more than 88,000 Afghans through its Operation Allies Welcome program. Of those, “we’ve identified 2,000 … who have ties to terrorist organizations,” Mr. Kent said.

Then there are “the other 16,000 individuals [with] ties to terrorist organizations that Biden let into our country. That is probably the top terrorist threat that we face right now, and that doesn’t include the individuals who came here illegally through the open border. That number alarmingly remains unknown at this time.”

Bottom line: Thousands of terrorists are living freely in the United States today, and you can thank the far left for each and every one of them.

“These are individuals who, under normal circumstances, would never be allowed to enter our country because of their ties to jihadist[s] … like [the Islamic State group] and al Qaeda,” Mr. Kent told the House. “Yet the Biden administration not only let them into the country; in many cases, [it] facilitated their entry into the country.”

Just months after this came to light, the Democrats nonetheless forced a record-breaking 75-day government shutdown over funding for the Department of Homeland Security, the very agency charged with keeping our nation and its citizens safe.

This tyrannical move stopped critical funding for terrorist-fighting operations, including the National Biosurveillance Integration Center, trade enforcement training, equipment procurement, technical surveillance and more.

Who and what got past us in the 2½ months the far left hijacked our government and played hot potato with our security? Who is still getting past?

In March, NewsNation reported, based on a review of federal data, that almost 11,000 Iranian nationals illegally entered the U.S. under Mr. Biden and that Iran is reportedly using “gaps” in U.S. homeland security efforts and “backlogs in ongoing migrant background checks” to infiltrate our borders.

Former U.S. Border Patrol sector chief Chris Clem told the outlet, “Most of the time, [immigrants flagged for potential ties to terrorist groups] were placed into ICE custody for detention that was protocol. And we do know that there were one or two incidents where, after a day or two in ICE custody, they were released.”

Mr. Trump has tried mightily to remove the illegal alien swarm that was allowed in for four years. Yet the left seems intent on keeping the danger going.

The administration should investigate every Biden official involved in the disastrously moronic Operation Allies Welcome, as well as anyone who had anything to do with the unchecked influx of other unvetted individuals from 2021 to 2024.

The rabid left may have a collective death wish, but the rest of America does not — and it deserves safe, secure borders.
