Pop star Beyonce has taken full ownership of SirDavis American Whisky, ending a partnership with French luxury conglomerate Moet Hennessy that produced the brand in 2024.

This follows nearly four years of joint development. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and neither party has commented on the reason for the split.

SirDavis, a 44% ABV whiskey blended from 51% rye and 49% malted barley, sells for $89 a bottle.



The brand takes its name from Beyonce’s paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, described as a farmer and moonshiner during Prohibition.

The spirit is distilled by MGP Ingredients and finished, blended and bottled in Texas which is the singer’s home state.

The sale comes as Moet Hennessy, part of LVMH and known for Hennessy cognac, Dom Perignon and Krug Champagne, works through a broader downsizing. The company cut roughly 13% of its global workforce last year as it shifts focus toward its flagship brands.
