OPINION:
The Democratic Socialists of America are brazen in their political approach — that is, they actually mean what they say, unlike mealymouthed normative pols who transgress bounds of honesty by finagling votes (“Top Democrats brush aside DSA friction as party girds for November,” Web, July 26).
What is not refreshing, however, is their political instincts, which, like the instincts of radical collectivists, rely on upending our constitutional protections to establish a dictatorship of the working class. Karl Marx would be proud that more than 150 years after publishing “Das Kapital,” a ready group of useful idiots will give it another try.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is so vast that, like Pavlov’s conditioned reflex, many poorly informed voters are salivating for change, any change. If the Democratic Party writ large accommodates these crazies, we are all diminished, as is our country.
