OPINION:
President Trump will be thanked in years to come for taking the fight to Iran. But he may also be pilloried for fighting a limited war or for bringing limited or no victory, as happened in Vietnam.
That said, the leaders of all the NATO countries who have not gone to Mr. Trump and America’s aid against the mullahs’ nuclear weapons intentions should be condemned. During World War II and again during the Cold War; America came to the free world’s aid.
Perhaps President Trump should have heeded the words of Ernest Hemingway: “Once we have a war there is only one thing to do. It must be won. For defeat brings worse things than any that can ever happen in war.”
