OPINION:
President Trump should refuse any future interview with biased NBC reporter Kristen Welker and should even revoke her White House press privileges (“Trump lashes out at ‘Meet the Press,’ calls NBC ‘crooked’ over California’s vote-counting process,” Web, June 7).
Ms. Welker has yet to correct or apologize for the blatant lie she made on air about Mr. Trump’s reaction to a shooting near the White House on Aug. 10, 2020.
Mr. Trump was ushered from the podium by the Secret Service and returned about 10 minutes later to report calmly what happened. Ms. Welker asked the president if he was at all rattled by the experience, to which he calmly and rhetorically replied, “Do I look rattled?”
Two hours later, Ms. Welker reported from the White House that when she asked the president if he was rattled, he said, “Of course.”
Ms. Welker and MSNBC refused to correct this false reporting when our organization called it out — and President Trump was right to cut short the recent interview with Ms. Welker in Wisconsin.
