OPINION:
Neither President Trump, his family members nor the White House has apologized for UFC heavyweight fighter Josh Hokit’s disparaging remarks last weekend about former first lady Michelle Obama (“UFC fighter Josh Hokit pummeled in the media for disparaging Michelle Obama,” Web, June 15).
At the UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House Lawn, Mr. Hokit yelled, “Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America?”
White House communications director Steven Cheung declined to condemn the remark when asked by journalists, and the president was observed smiling when the vicious, racist comment was made.
First lady Melania Trump has condemned the media and politicians for making disparaging comments about her, including remarks about her and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. She said the individuals who spread lies are “devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect.”
Are Mr. and Mrs. Trump “devoid of ethical standards” for not condemning Josh Hokit’s lie about Michelle Obama?
