On Friday, the Obama Presidential Center opened in Chicago. To call it hideous would be a monumental understatement. The 235-foot-tall structure has been compared to an alien artifact dropped into the heart of the Windy City or the monolith the humanoid creatures danced around at the opening of the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

At a cost of roughly $900 million, it is the most expensive presidential library ever. All that ugliness did not come cheap, and some of its contractors have yet to be paid.

Presidential libraries celebrate a president’s accomplishments. The Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library in Austin, Texas, pays tribute to LBJ’s role in the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, California, spotlights the Gipper’s achievements in the war on communism, after decades of defeat, and in revitalizing the U.S. economy.

What were President Barack Hussein Obama’s achievements? Obamacare, which has to be bailed out periodically. What about the pallets of cash flown to Tehran as bribes to stop its nuclear program? How about changing the military’s rules of engagement to make it harder to fight terrorism, or President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, announced less than nine months after he took office, a pat on the head from globalists?

The location of the Obama Library is symbolically fitting, given the explosion of crime during the Obama years. Run by dedicated root-causers, Chicago has a well-deserved reputation as the national shooting gallery. Over the past weekend, seven were killed and 40 were injured in a spate of shootings across the city.

Our 44th president’s appointments deserve special consideration. Mr. Obama put dedicated judicial activists Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, who never met a racial quota they didn’t like, on the Supreme Court.

His first attorney general, Eric H. Holder Jr., was the first attorney general to be held in contempt of Congress for his role in Fast and Furious, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives gun-walking scandal.

Mr. Obama, a young man of mixed race with very little Washington experience, chose as his running mate an elderly White man who had spent his entire adult life in government: Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., who was in a mental fog for most of his own presidency.

Will the Obama Presidential Center have exhibits on racial pandering, government waste and fraud, mismanaging foreign affairs, and appointments to placate the far left?

Instead of selling tickets, the center should give away cash with each admission to boost attendance.
