OPINION:
I am a former U.S. Army cavalry scout — enlisted, not drafted. I am part Jewish, but not practicing. Eight members of my extended family were either in law enforcement or firefighting. We are now down to seven.
I have been to the Dachau Concentration Camp museum in Germany. I was at the Olympic Village in Munich in 1972 when Muslim terrorists attacked and killed members of the Israeli delegation.
So the support of Rep. Ro Khanna, California Democrat, for Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner offends me on many levels (“Sen. Bernie Sanders stands by Graham Platner after controversy over sexually explicit texts,” Web, May 1). Mr. Platner is a hater, pure and simple.
I do not belong to any political party. I am an American.
I have lost respect for Mr. Khanna. Morals and ethics matter, as does solid judgment. I’m probably not alone in my anger at Mr. Khanna for failing in this.
