Gas station chain Buc-ee’s, based in Texas with locations in 11 other states, is opening its first stores in Arizona and Arkansas this year, and four more states next year.
The first Arizona Buc-ee’s is planned to open on June 22 in Goodyear, about 18 miles west of Phoenix. The first Arkansas Buc-ee’s is planned to open sometime in August in Benton, about 149 miles southwest of Memphis, according to Fox News.
The towns getting their state’s first Buc-ee’s in 2027 included Kansas City, Kansas; Mebane, North Carolina, about 41 miles northwest of Raleigh; and Oak Creek, Wisconsin, less than 10 miles south of Milwaukee, according to Fox News.
Louisiana will be getting two Buc-ee’s locations in 2027, with one opening in Ruston and the other opening in Lafayette, according to AL.com.
Buc-ee’s was founded in Texas in 1982, though it didn’t expand out of the state until a location opened in Alabama in 2019.
There are currently four locations in Alabama, one in Colorado, two in Florida, three in Georgia, two in Kentucky, one each in Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio and South Carolina, two in Tennessee, one in Virginia and 36 in Texas.
Among the Texas locations is the world’s largest convenience store, a Buc-ee’s in Luling, about 53 miles northeast of San Antonio, with an area of 75,593 square feet.
