OPINION:
Many government officials broke the law in an effort to destroy and jail President Trump. They all knew he was innocent, but they smeared and spied on him anyway.
This was not Watergate; it was far worse. Let’s be straight: Mr. Trump was, and remains, a deep-state victim. If no one is above the law, then violators should be held accountable.
These people knew their nefarious efforts against Mr. Trump were not right. The extensive list includes former Presidents Barack Obama and Joseph R. Biden, former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, former FBI Director James B. Comey, former CIA Director John O. Brennan and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
Evidence shows that Mr. Comey conspired with the Hillary Clinton election machine and Messrs. Obama and Biden to launch and pursue baseless smear campaigns against Mr. Trump until Mr. Trump fired him.
Let’s get to the point: Evidence shows that the FBI, the Justice Department and the enablers in the Obama and Biden administrations engineered the most egregious abuse of power and corruption in our political history, including insidious, coordinated prosecutions and impeachment proceedings.
This kind of corruption challenges our governmental accountability and rule of law. It must be rooted out and dealt with. Exposure is only part of it. There also must be accountability. Laws not enforced are just recommendations.
Faith in our government cannot be restored until accountability is executed. People have a right to know the truth. Transparency must come forth with justice rendered.
If leaders from our government say no one is above the law, then they must hold the perpetrators accountable.
