OPINION:
Every Memorial Day I am taken back to the time I was in combat as a 19-year-old Marine gunner in Vietnam.
When my gun ran out of rounds, I was sent up to a bomb crater at the front line, where our wounded were placed to receive first aid. Though wounded myself, I remained in the fight.
In the darkness of night, I carried dead Marines away, placing their bodies behind bushes. I went back several times until daybreak to lay men to rest.
These were not Democrats or Republicans when they expired, only brothers. We were all sent to Vietnam to kill communists and stop them from making us slaves to a dictatorial, vicious ideology.
This year, as an independent voter ready to head to the polls, I’ve watched the Democrats lie, cheat and steal, prostituting the laws of our country and trying to bring us back under that same evil ideology against which I and my fellow Marines fought in Vietnam.
The Democrats have brainwashed the young, who think they have a right under the First Amendment to support our enemies with impunity as they riot and protest in our streets.
When our Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, I doubt they would have stood for the British malcontent of the time running around in the streets, opposing our right to be free of their king.
Having been wounded in war several times, the last of which ended up in me being put on 100% disability, I strongly suggest this to those who hate our country: Leave.
