The U.S. Mint is set to ship a new 2026 quarter honoring the to the Federal Reserve on June 1, news outlets report.
This is one of five new quarter designs being released this year, the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding. The others depict the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the U.S. Constitution and the Gettysburg Address.
The semiquincentennial design features Thomas Jefferson on the front with the inscriptions “1776 ~ 2026,” “E Pluribus Unum” and “In God We Trust,” as well as the Liberty Bell.
The U.S. Mint will also issue a redesigned dime featuring the face of the Statue of Liberty and a nickel with Jefferson’s image.
Acting U.S. Mint Director Kristie McNally said in a news release that the coins are meant to “depict the story of America’s journey toward a ’more perfect union,’ and celebrate America’s defining ideals of liberty.”
