Social media personality Palm Beach Pete announced his candidacy for mayor of Palm Beach, Florida.

The Jeffrey Epstein lookalike, whose real name is Peter Simel, went viral on social media for his uncanny physical resemblance to the late sex offender, although he said there is no relation. Epstein lived in a waterfront mansion in Palm Beach.

The Thursday announcement from the 71-year-old retired Florida real estate executive and former college tennis player said he will campaign on “the issues that truly matter to the people of Palm Beach.”

In a podcast interview on “The Nicky Gordo Show,” Mr. Simel listed a surplus of free activities and services he wants to bring to the waterfront city: dog walking, fitness, Botox and mother-in-law therapy, all at no cost.

He also threw out the idea to import water from New York City “so we have great bagels and great pizza in Palm Beach.”

“Everyone knows the secret to good pizzas and bagels in NYC is the water,” his website reads. “We will build our own pipeline to import NYC water.”

On his website, Mr. Simel promises to provide all residents of Palm Beach a free convertible vehicle for 12 months to “experience the top down in the Palm Beach breeze.” He also wants to fund a “major expansion project” to create pickleball and padel courts and offer free tennis lessons.

It’s unclear whether he has officially filed paperwork to appear on the 2028 ballot.
