Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

The veteran rocker said Monday on social media, “Dr. El-Sayed is a fighter for our American Constitution, he’s a fighter for our American Democracy, and he’s a fighter against the corrupt, lawless, and anti-American leadership currently in the White House. That’s why I’m in his corner 100%.”

Mr. Springsteen, 77, has been a longtime Democratic supporter and critic of President Trump.

The president has endorsed Mr. El-Sayed’s opponent, Republican Mike Rogers.

Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens also backed Mr. Rogers due to Mr. El-Sayed’s swatting of Israel and his association with far-left streamer Hasan Piker.

“What our students see, what our children see and who we are as Michiganders is not hate and is not what we are getting out from our Democratic nominee right now,” Ms. Stevens said in her statement Monday.

In January, Mr. Springsteen released a protest song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” about the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were killed that month by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection agents, respectively.
