Houston police said an armed robbery suspect was shot and killed late Saturday after the victim’s friend pulled his own gun on the thief.

Authorities said three robbers confronted the victim just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday outside of a convenience store in the Braeburn neighborhood.

One robber was armed with a Glock police and held the victim at gunpoint while taking property from the man, police said.

A friend of the victim interrupted the stickup by firing a single shot into the robber’s chest. The victim and his friend then got in the friend’s car and drove off.

Investigators said the two other robbers fled, while the suspect died from his wound.

Police did not identify the slain robber but said everyone involved appeared to be in their 20s. Authorities are also looking into whether the robbers and the victim knew each other.
