The body of a Maryland man who went to Cleveland to watch an NFL game and subsequently went missing was found in the city’s Cuyahoga River.
Phoenix Phillips, 24 was last seen alive in Cleveland on Oct. 2, the Cleveland Division of Police said in a missing persons poster uploaded to social media.
The body of Mr. Phillips was found in the Cuyahoga River Tuesday. The river is also listed as the place where he died, according to Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office records, though the records did not specify his exact cause of death.

Mr. Phillips was a resident of Perryville, Maryland, around 34 miles northeast of Baltimore, according to the medical examiner’s office records.
The police said that Mr. Phillips was visiting Cleveland to attend the week 4 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and AFC North rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to USA Today.
Cleveland Division of Police Sgt. Freddy Diaz told WEWS-TV that he “at some point kind of got separated from the person he was with, and after that, you know, we’re still trying to determine what actually happened.”
