Rep. Ilhan Omar’s campaign asked her supporters Tuesday to send cash to help fend off a Trump administration investigation involving allegations of immigration fraud.

The Minnesota Democrat’s campaign sent a plea for money through an ActBlue e-mail, asking her network to “Stand with Ilhan Omar.”

The e-mail pitch continues, “Donald Trump and DHS have opened a baseless, partisan investigation into Ilhan Omar, and she needs us by her side as they escalate their attacks.”

The campaign asks supporters to “chip in whatever you can to make sure Ilhan can beat Trump and keep fighting for our progressive values in Congress.” Potential donors can choose from denominations of $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or any other amount they wish.

There is also an option to donate to the campaign monthly.

The Democratic National Committee also sent out its own fundraising e-mail based on Ms. Omar’s campaign request for money.

“DHS just raided my home,” the e-mail states.

“It’s Ilhan Omar — Trump’s DHS agents just carried out a raid and search of my home,” it continues. “This is a drastic escalation of the ludicrous, partisan investigation that they launched into my immigration status.”

The e-mail says that Mr. Trump has “weaponized the DOJ and DHS against his opponents for the last two years, and now that fascism has come to my literal front door,” and that Ms. Omar will “not back down.”

“I will not be intimidated, and I will not be silenced,” she said. “Please, as I do everything I can to take on this extreme abuse of power, I’m humbly asking you to support me today by rushing a $20 contribution, split between my campaign and the DNC.”

In November, Ms. Omar faces Republican Dalia al-Aqidi in a rematch of their 2024 race.

Federal agents searched the home of Ms. Omar in the District of Columbia early Monday, while the Democratic congresswoman’s allies criticized the White House for launching the operation less than a month before she faces reelection.

The raid was carried out by Homeland Security Department agents and is tied to an investigation of the immigration forms that Ms. Omar’s father filled out when she was a child, according to multiple reports.

The Justice Department said Homeland Security Investigations “executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.”

The search followed border czar Tom Homan’s confirmation last month that Ms. Omar was the focus of a criminal investigation.

President Trump said Monday evening, during a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, that he does not know what investigators are doing with her.

“But I can tell you this, she’s a disaster. She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military,” he said of Somalia, Ms. Omar’s native country. “All they do is shoot each other. And she comes into our country, and she says, ’I have a constitutional right.’”

Mr. Trump mockingly said, “She’s got a constitutional right,” adding, “She’s telling us about the Constitution, and she comes from one of the worst countries anywhere on the planet.”
