Police in Delaware charged two teens accused of going around a neighborhood at night knocking on doors while wearing masks and vests and carrying gel bead guns that look like rifles.
The prank took place in New Castle, 35 miles southwest of Philadelphia, on Friday just before 11 p.m.
After being tipped off to their identity Sunday, the New Castle County Division of Police contacted the two suspects, boys ages 16 and 17, and executed a search warrant at one of their homes, the police said on social media Monday.

The search warrant turned up “a gel bead gun, a tactical vest and a hockey-style mask,” police said.
Following their initial contact and the search warrant Sunday, the police arrested the two teens, New Castle County Police Department Sgt. Andrea Botterbusch confirmed to Fox News.
“I thought it was a prank, but I just figured that was kind of extreme. I’m going to say, kids, I understand about pranks, but be mindful of the type of pranks you pull because somebody could have gotten murdered. It could have been more serious than it was,” a resident of the neighborhood where the incident occurred told Philadelphia’s WPVI-TV.
The suspects, neither of whom was named publicly by police, are each charged with two misdemeanor counts of harassment, one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief and two violations of criminal trespassing laws. The police said arraignment information for the two teens is pending.
