Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from a federal prison in New Jersey to a low-security facility in Pennsylvania following reports that he was injured in a fight inside the New Jersey lockup and was using contraband items.

The 56-year-old rapper was moved from FCI Fort Dix to FCI Allenwood Low, about 155 miles west of New York City. He had previously been held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center for over a year, where fellow inmates included Luigi Mangione, the accused killer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer but told news outlets it does not discuss confinement conditions or reasons for transfers, citing privacy, safety and security concerns.

Combs’ spokesman, Juda Engelmayer, said the agency makes placement decisions and expressed hope that Combs’ time at the new facility “will be productive and without unnecessary disruption.”

Combs is serving a four-year, two-month sentence for prostitution-related convictions for transporting people across state lines for sexual encounters, and the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has yet to rule on his appeal, which was argued in April.

NBC News reported last month that Combs was continuing to enjoy aspects of a millionaire lifestyle at Fort Dix, including smuggled liquor, inmate-provided chores and massages, and a contraband cellphone to view explicit content.

TMZ reported Wednesday that Combs was injured in a fight with another inmate, but a Bureau of Prisons official told The Associated Press the report “is false and did not happen.”

After the NBC report, Combs was placed in the prison’s special housing unit and docked 41 days of good-conduct credit, pushing his release date to March 2, 2028, the official said.
