Paramount Pictures on Thursday released a full trailer for “Ebenezer,” director Ti West’s take on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” It gives audiences a longer look at Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge six weeks before the film opens Nov. 13.

Paramount is selling the film on a twist: “The name you know, the story you don’t,” according to the official synopsis. Mr. West is best known for the horror films “X” and “Pearl.” The new footage shows Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley, who warns Scrooge about the three spirits to come, according to PEOPLE.

The new trailer follows the first one, released July 23 after Mr. Depp appeared in character at Comic-Con in San Diego. He wandered the convention streets as Scrooge before introducing the footage.

The cast also includes Rupert Grint as Bob Cratchit, Daisy Ridley as Emily Cratchit, Sam Claflin as Fred, Andrea Riseborough as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Tramell Tillman as the Ghost of Christmas Present. Robert Strange plays the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

The film is Mr. Depp’s first major studio lead since 2018. Since his 2022 defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, he has starred in the French film “Jeanne du Barry,” which opened the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and directed “Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness,” PEOPLE reported.

A source told PEOPLE the project “felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” for the actor.

Mr. Depp’s next release is Day Drinker, a Lionsgate thriller directed by Marc Webb that opens March 26, 2027. Penelope Cruz and Madelyn Cline co-star, and the first trailer arrived Sept. 24.
