Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was placed back in solitary confinement at the Fort Dix federal prison after reports about his prison luxuries, including a contraband cellphone to scroll Instagram, a stash of premium liquor and access to a tablet he used to watch a Netflix docuseries about himself.
Combs, 56, was moved into a special housing unit at the New Jersey low-security prison after footage was released of him seemingly using a cellphone at Fort Dix, where he is serving a 50-month sentence. It would be his second stint in isolation, following a July fight with another inmate, according to TMZ.
Combs was convicted last year on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. His release date was recently moved up to January 2028, though it is unclear whether the new violations would delay it, Rolling Stone reported.

A spokesman for Combs dismissed the reporting on his perks as sensationalizing “ordinary prison life.” The spokesman added that “the only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
According to NBC News, the one-time billionaire paid fellow inmates thousands of dollars for favors, including cooking gourmet meals and cleaning showers and toilets before he used them.
“Money is power, especially behind bars,” one source told NBC.
Fort Dix has had contraband problems. Last month, five people, including one current and one former corrections officer, were charged with conspiracy to provide contraband. Prosecutors say they smuggled in knives, marijuana, tobacco, cellphones, vapes and other items between May 2025 and May 2026, with more than $100,000 changing hands, according to the criminal complaint.
