Calley Means, a senior White House adviser to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and a Make America Healthy Again advocate, announced his resignation Thursday.
In a social media post, Mr. Means wrote that he is resigning “with tremendous respect for President Trump and Bobby Kennedy.”
“They laid out a vision of combatting the entrenched dark forces in DC that profit from Americans getting sick. More policy and cultural change has happened around these goals in the past 2 years than any time in history – and I know this movement is just getting started,” he wrote.

Mr. Means, whose sister, Casey Means, was briefly Mr. Trump’s nominee for surgeon general, did not give a reason for his resignation.
He was key in advocating for several MAHA food policies, including revising the dietary guidelines and inverting the food pyramid so animal-based proteins would be at the top.
Multiple media outlets in recent months reported that Mr. Means had clashed with other White House officials, sometimes becoming visibly agitated and raising his voice. Those outlets also reported that he had grown increasingly frustrated with the administration’s delay in developing a formal definition for ultra-processed foods and creating labeling requirements.
Mr. Means was said to be pivotal in connecting Mr. Trump and Mr. Kennedy in July 2024. He was said to have brokered the initial conversations during a time when they both had competing presidential campaigns.
