Police in Tallahassee, Florida, said 11 people, including six minors, were injured in a Saturday night shooting near Florida A&M University’s campus.

Tallahassee Chief of Police Lawrence Revell said one person remained in critical condition and six others were being treated at a hospital in the shooting that erupted hours after Florida A&M’s homecoming weekend game against the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

“Six are adults and six are juveniles,” Chief Revell said. “We know our youngest victim is 11 years old. At least three of our victims have sustained serious injuries and one of those is in critical condition. Eight of those are reported to be in stable condition.”

No arrests had been made as of Sunday morning, the chief said. Police did not say if the shooting, which broke out near Florida A&M’s Bragg Memorial Stadium, was connected to the game.

Five victims were released from emergency care, and an older woman hurt herself while trying to flee the chaotic shooting, authorities said.

Chief Revell said an argument between two or three people escalated into violence.

“This is a truly horrific and heartbreaking tragedy,” Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey said. “Tonight and in the days ahead, the FAMU family is not alone. Our entire community stands with you.”
