Actor Danny Masterson, who was found guilty on charges of rape in 2023, has been denied an appeal of his conviction, upholding his 30-year prison sentence.

Masterson, who starred on “That ‘70s Show,” had his appeal rejected by a three-judge panel, which handed him an 89-page ruling. Masterson claimed the trial judge had been biased against him since the actor is a Scientologist.

The actor, 50, was found guilty of raping two women at his Hollywood Hills home in 2003.

The three-judge panel also rejected Masterson’s arguments about the statute of limitations and evidentiary rulings. His attorneys say that they will also appeal to the California Supreme Court while also filing a separate habeas petition.

“Danny is serving a life sentence for crimes he did not commit,” one of his attorneys, Cliff Gardner, said in a statement. “No one in California – not defendants and not victims who have actually been the victim of a sex crime – is safer by virtue of today’s unfortunate decision.”
