Actor Michael Douglas said in a recent interview he’s hoping for an electoral “massacre” against the GOP on Tuesday.

“I’m hoping for a massacre, and we’ll see … overwhelming Democratic votes across the board,” the actor said Wednesday in an interview with the BBC’s “Today” program promoting his autobiography, “One Helluva Ride.”

He said President Trump “has exhausted his promises and repetitions.”

Mr. Douglas said the Democratic Party would hold subpoena power but would tackle affordability first and that its plan “doesn’t mean indicting the president immediately.”

He added that Democrats would then “start handpicking the people around Trump” and “one by one pick them off.”

When asked whether he was worried that Mr. Trump has used Hollywood support for Democrats to portray the party as elite and out of touch, the two-time Oscar winner and longtime Democratic donor said, “I haven’t really felt that because the reason that he achieves such a degree of success was that he was a major television star on ‘The Apprentice.’ … Twelve years he was, like, a leading star.”

The actor continued, “Everybody knew him, and it reflected exactly into his image as the president. ‘You’re fired, I’m the boss’, and that’s why people loved him. Yeah, we’re a liberal-bent party, and people like Bobby De Niro and some others have no problem telling him how he feels. But I haven’t felt that personal attack, no.”
