Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel mocked former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin during a monologue taking aim at President Trump’s speech in Lubbock, Texas, on Tuesday.

On Wednesday night, Mr. Kimmel poked fun at Mr. Trump’s comments that Senate hopeful James Talarico, a Democrat, “loves transgender children.”

“These children, if you check it out and see what happens, they take ’em as young children,” Mr. Trump said during his speech. “And Timmy leaves home and comes back Sarah.”

Mr. Kimmel responded during his monologue, “Yeah. Now that is true. That’s what happened to Sarah Palin.”

“She was Timmy Palin,” Mr. Kimmel said. “The doctors got hold of her, and they made her a Sarah. And their parents didn’t even know.”

Mr. Kimmel went on to question Mr. Trump’s statements.

“Does anyone actually believe this? What do you mean?” the host said. “If so, please trust me on this. If you drop off Timmy and he comes home ‘Sarah,’ you picked up the wrong kid from school. Turn the car around.”
