Letter to the editor: Paris is burning

OPINION:

If it is true that the French are engaging in destructive rioting because they want “more education funding,” then the depth of France’s educational failure is astonishing (“Trump links French riots for more educational funding to country’s immigration policies, Islam,” Web, Oct. 6).

The most basic logic suggests should tell these people that if school buildings are destroyed and must be rebuilt. there will be no money available for education funding for a very long time.

Also interesting is that churches (and synagogues) have been destructively attacked — but mosques. have been spared.

Hitler reportedly asked his chief of staff, Gen. Alfred Jodl, “Is Paris burning?” in August 1944. It wasn’t then, but it is now.
