The late Hayden Panettiere’s former partner, ex-boxer Wladimir Klitschko, has filed a petition to act as their 11-year-old daughter’s temporary representative and protect her inheritance.
Mr. Klitschko filed the petition Thursday in Los Angeles County court, asking to be the temporary representative of their daughter, Kaya, who is Panettiere’s sole heir since her death on Aug. 16. TMZ reported the filing on Monday.
He has had full custody of Kaya for most of her life, and she lives with him in Ukraine. Mr. Klitschko’s brother, Vitali Klitschko, is the mayor of Kyiv.

The petition cites unnamed and unauthorized people entering Panettiere’s residence and missing valuables. It calls the appointment “urgent and essential.”
According to the petition, without an immediate appointment, there is a “high probability” that estate property “may be lost, damaged or dissipated” before a personal representative is formally appointed.
The filing says Mr. Klitschko seeks only to protect his daughter’s future assets until a permanent administrator is named. It says he and Panettiere hired security before her death after an unnamed person gained unauthorized access to her home, and it expects that person to keep trying to “misappropriate” estate property.
A hearing is set for Oct. 8.
Mr. Klitschko, 50, and Panettiere were a couple roughly from 2009 to 2018.
Panettiere, 36, died of an accidental overdose of several drugs, including fentanyl. A former star of NBC’s “Heroes” and ABC’s Nashville,” she had been in rehab just weeks before her death.
