Odell Beckham Jr.’s reunion with the New York Giants was short-lived. The team released the 33-year-old wide receiver on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
The three-time Pro Bowler failed to record a reception in New York’s first three games this season. He was used sparingly, with quarterbacks Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston targeting him with just one pass, which fell incomplete.
Beckham made the Giants’ 53-man roster after a promising training camp. The 2014 first-round pick signed with New York this offseason after spending five seasons with the franchise to start his career.

During his spectacular first run with the Giants, Beckham racked up 5,476 receiving yards with 390 catches and 44 touchdowns. He was unable to match that production since the team traded him to the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
The 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year bounced around the league with brief stints as a Los Angeles Ram, a Baltimore Raven and a Miami Dolphin.
With the Rams in 2021, he helped lead them to the NFL title.
Beckham is not ready to retire, several reports indicated Tuesday. He plans to sign with a different franchise — one that could offer him more playing time — to finish the year.
