Authorities are accusing a 19-year-old man of filming himself in an “explicit act” with a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte without her knowing she was being filmed and sending it to a fraternity’s group chat.
Alexander Michael Evanoff allegedly shared the video with the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity’s chat, which has 32 members. UNCC released a statement saying Mr. Evanoff is not a registered student at the school.
“The individual who has been charged is not currently enrolled at the University,” a spokesperson said. “The alleged conduct in this case, if true, is reprehensible. It is not what we expect or will tolerate from members of our campus community.”

Officials say Mr. Evanoff admitted to taking the video without the woman’s consent. Police also say he has apologized to her for sending it.
Mr. Evanoff was arrested Monday with two counts of felony secret peeping and disclosing private images. He was released Tuesday on a $10,000 bond.
