BARRE, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man has admitted to selling heroin that led to a man’s fatal overdose.
Thirty-two-year-old Anthony Milo pleaded guilty Wednesday to selling a regulated drug with death resulting, heroin sale and cocaine sale. The Times Argus reports the Barre man was sentenced to serve eight to 18 years, all suspended but 4 ½ years.
Milo took responsibility for selling the drugs to 32-year-old Jesse Eklund in May 2018.
Police say they found drug paraphernalia at the apartment where they found Eklund’s body. Several of the empty baggies found at the scene had a Playboy bunny stamped on them.
Authorities later found a backpack in Milo’s home containing his identification and bags with the same Playboy stamp.
In a court statement, Milo said he thinks about Eklund every day.
