PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old woman accused of killing a man in Gresham.
A Gresham police spokesman said Monday that Ariana Marlene Cortez has been booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a murder charge in the stabbing death of Otoniel Hernandez-Duarte. He said the investigation remains active.
Gresham police say 19-year-old Hernandez-Duarte and Cortez got into a fight at a party and Cortez attacked him with a knife.
Hernandez-Duarte was able to walk to a neighbor’s house and knock on the door, but then collapsed. The neighbor called 9-1-1.
Oregon court records show Cortez has previous arrests for misdemeanor theft, most recently pleading guilty in March to stealing merchandise from a Fred Meyer store.
The Gresham woman does not yet have a listed attorney in the murder case.
