TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A Lee County man has been charged in connection with a shooting spree that included shooting into a teen’s bedroom.

News outlets report 20-year-old Austin Spears was formally charged Monday with shooting into a motor vehicle on Saturday in Tupelo. Officials say Spears shot into the driver’s side of a vehicle with three occupants and into the window of a 15-year-old girl’s bedroom.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says deputies stopped Spears, along with two other men between the ages of 19 and 20, in a vehicle that matched a witness’ description.

Authorities say they recovered several weapons from the car including a pellet rifle, bb gun and slingshot.

Officials say while the other two men were released they are still facing possible charges.

It’s unclear if Spears has an attorney.
