MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A Prichard Police officer has been arrested on a harassment charge.
According to the Mobile Sheriff’s Office, a woman reported online harassment by Brandon Burrell and signed a misdemeanor warrant.
WKRG-TV (https://bit.ly/2jWBHBK ) reports the sheriff’s office contacted Prichard Police and Burrell was allowed to turn himself in. He was released Tuesday after posting $500 bond. It was unknown if he’s represented by an attorney.
Prichard police confirm that Burrell has been placed on administrative duty. It was not immediately known how long he’s worked for the department.
Court records reveal that Burrell was arrested in 2009 for possession of marijuana and a controlled substance in Pickens County, Alabama. He was allowed to enter a pre-trial substance abuse diversion program. Records show he completed that course and the charges were dismissed.
