KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A grand jury in Tennessee has indicted a woman on charges of murder and aggravated child neglect in the death of her 6-month-old son.
News outlets cite a statement from the Knoxville Police Department in reporting on Friday the charges against 30-year-old Chantae Cabrera. The infant was found dead in a parked car at a Knoxville shopping center on Aug. 9. Police have not released a cause of death.
Police say the grand jury returned the indictment Wednesday after a weekslong investigation, and Cabrera was taken into custody shortly after midnight Friday.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether she has an attorney.
