MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) - A third man has been charged in connection with an assault at a grocery in Meriden where a man was beaten unconscious.
Police say Christopher Monteleone, of Waterbury, has been charged with second-degree breach of peace. He turned himself into police Tuesday and was released on a $50,000 bond.
Police say a man and woman were harassed by five men they didn’t know as they walked into a Stop & Shop on Feb. 12. The man objected to the taunts and was beaten until he lost consciousness.
Two other men - Robert Cote, of Meriden, and Thomas Zanone, of Waterbury - were charged last week with second-degree assault and other charges last week. They’ll appear in court March 16.
Monteleone will be in court March 21. It couldn’t be immediately determined if he has a lawyer.
