PHOENIX (AP) - A woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of her husband, according to Phoenix police.

They said 33-year-old Daryl Early is jailed on suspicion of first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Early is facing a July 30 preliminary hearing in Maricopa County Superior Court . It was unclear Thursday if she has a lawyer yet who can speak on her behalf.

Police said children living in the couple’s house told investigators they saw Early and her husband fighting Monday night.

Court documents state that Early went to the kitchen to get a knife and allegedly stabbed her husband once in the chest.

Witnesses say the man left the house but later collapsed in a nearby alleyway.

He was then taken to a hospital, where he died. The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.
