PHOENIX (AP) - A state grand jury has indicted a man who allegedly tampered with food items at seven retail stores in the Phoenix metro area last year.
Arizona prosecutors say David Claire Lohr allegedly poured bleach or hydrogen peroxide on the food items at some of the stores.
The reported tampering occurred between Oct. 1 and 29 in 2018.
The stores were located in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale and Chandler.
Prosecutors say it’s believed the tampered food was discovered prior to anyone consuming the items.
They say no individuals have reported any illness associated with the consumption of the tampered items.
Lohr is currently in federal custody and is facing one felony count of criminal damage and nine felony counts of adding poison or another harmful substance to food, drink or medicine.
It was unclear Thursday if Lohr has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf about the case.
