LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a Las Vegas man convicted of stabbing his fiance with a butcher knife attacked a jail guard just days after a jury decided he should serve at least 20 years in prison.
Officer Larry Hadfield says 53-year-old David Frostick hit an officer in the face with a flashlight and used his legs to try to choke him during the Sept. 21 confrontation at the Clark County Detention Center.
Hadfield says the guard was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
Frostick’s attorney in the murder case, David Schieck, said Wednesday that another lawyer will be appointed for Frostick in the jail attack case.
Jurors decided Sept. 16 that Frostick should get life in prison with the possibility of parole for the 2009 killing of Robin Lesley Jenkins.
He’ll be sentenced Nov. 2 on other charges.
