MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a Mesa woman has been accused of fatally stabbing her estranged boyfriend.

They say 23-year-old Daylajae Hudspeth is jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder and failure to comply with a court order.

Her bail is set at $100,000.

Hudspeth allegedly stabbed Dontavius McCaslin in the chest during an argument early Sunday at a Mesa apartment.

McCaslin was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police say Hudspeth was arrested July 20 for assaulting McCaslin and had been ordered to stay away from him.

Hudspeth told police that she was in an on-again, off-again relationship with McCaslin.

She says he punched her in the face before she stabbed him.

But police say there were no signs of injury to her face and Hudspeth was taken into custody.
