MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A former New Hampshire town selectman is headed to prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting several teenage girls.

Gary Snair pleaded guilty Tuesday in Manchester to charges including stalking and aggravated felonious sexual assault. He was sentenced to 18 years behind bars.

The 53-year-old was a former selectman and the emergency management director in Hillsborough. The investigation into the sex assault allegations began last year and expanded to several towns and several teenage girls. Prosecutors say Snair manipulated the victims and threatened them with violence.

Several victims read statements in court. Snair apologized.
