PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The Portland Police Bureau has identified a husband and wife who died last week in what homicide detectives say was a murder-suicide.

According to the bureau, detectives believe 48-year-old Jacques Dreyfus was under the influence of narcotics when he shot 38-year-old Heather Mari Star Riccardi multiple times on Feb. 15. Dreyfus then called 9-1-1 and shot himself.

A spokesman says it took a week to release the names because Dreyfus’ relatives live in France and detectives had trouble finding them to provide notification.

Riccardi’s death was Portland’s second homicide of 2014.
